Port Terminal Tour (ILWU/PMA)
Pre-Con Day: Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Time: 8 am - 4 pm

Group facilitated by Donovan Russell, ILWU 13 and University of Illinois School of Labor and Employment Relations
Location: Long Beach Container Terminal

Description: LERA is offering an educational and enjoyable tour of the Long Beach Container Terminal and then lunch and Q & A with Union Local 13 (ILWU 13) on the pre-conference day, Wed., May 31, 2017. A $30/40 charge is added on your registration fee if participation in this tour is selected. The tour will depart the Hilton Anaheim at 8 am and plans to return to the hotel by 4 pm (traffic will play a large part in our return time, ample time factored in). This will include a guided tour of an automated terminal to observe operations, discuss safety and labor relation concerns, and will conclude with a working Q & A lunch with union representatives.

**Please note: Pants, close-toe shoes and photo ID are required, safety vests and hard hats will be provided

 

Schedule:
8 am Depart Hilton Anaheim Lobby (please check in prior)
9 am Arrive at terminal
9 - 11 am Tour / observe and discuss operations at terminal
11 - 11:30 am
Travel to ILWU Local 13 office
11:30 am - 2:30 pm Lunch with guest speakers (presentations and Q & A)
2:30 pm Depart terminal
3:30 pm - 4 Arrive back at Hilton Anaheim

Day: Friday, June 2, 2017
Game Time: 7 pm

Tickets are $60 and seats are in section 126. Game starts at 7 pm. Come network with other LERA members and enjoy the Angels Stadium.

"Angel Stadium is baseball's fourth-oldest active Major League Baseball stadium, behind Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Dodger Stadium. It has been the home of the Angels since their move from Los Angeles following the 1965 season. The stadium is often referred to by its unofficial nickname The Big A and has hosted the 1967, 1989, and 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Games."

We are planning on scheduling several cabs for transportation.
