3 Basic steps to attend conference
1. Register - https://conf.aeaweb.org/index.phpRegular early bird registration is $55 before December 3, and be sure to mark "member" on your registration form. After December 3, 2016 the registration rate increases to $115. Note: you must register before you will be able to take advantage of the deeply discounted hotel room rates (of about $105 per night). LERA sessions will be held at 151 E Upper Wacker Drive at the Hyatt Regency Chicago. You can pick up your meeting registration materials at the ASSA/AEA registration desk in the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
In the past, when you registered for the ASSA meeting, you created an account in the registration system. Please do not create a new account this year. Instead, log back into your existing account to register for any of this year's meetings. To prepare ahead of time, if you have forgotten your username and/or password, use the Forgot your password option. (Please note that the conference system is separate from the AEA membership system. It is possible that you used the same credentials for both, but they could be different.) All new users simply visit their website and create a username and password for the first time. (General information about the meeting can be found at https://www.aeaweb.org/conference/2017/.)
As soon as you register, you will receive an email from [email protected] that will contain a 5-digit housing code. Once you receive this code, proceed to the housing form listed here and reserve your room (https://registration.experientevent.com/ShowALL171). The LERA hotel is the Hyatt Regency at 151 E Wacker Drive.
Hyatt Regency, 151 E Upper Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60601
PLEASE NOTE: The Hyatt Regency is also the ASSA Headquarters hotel -- and it will sell out VERY quickly, usually within the first or second day they open registration. (13,000 people will all want to stay there, but of course they can only accommodate a fraction of that). If you want to be certain to stay at the LERA hotel, then you will need to register and obtain your hotel room reservation on the very first day they open their registration in September 2016. LERA will send an email to our entire membership when they open registration to remind you.
